
Meet The Committee
The Friends of Plane Saver Lottery is run by a group of volunteer trustees. The trustees are all members of Plane Saver Credit Union who have volunteered to represent Plane Saver members and oversee the monthly lottery draw.


Grantley Yearwood MBE
Chairman
Grantley, Chairman of Friends of Plane Saver, joined as a trustee in 2018, bringing a wealth of expertise. His notable career with British Airways and prior roles as President of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Supervisory Committee at Plane Saver Credit Union underline his commitment to the aviation and credit union sectors. Grantley's contributions extend beyond his professional life, having served on the Hounslow Bench as a JP and receiving an MBE for services to West London. Recently retired, Grantley continues to be a driving force in the Friends of Plane Saver Lottery.

Oby Agbarakwe
Secretary
Oby, a dedicated trustee of Friends of Plane Saver, contributes her extensive 24-year experience as a Customer Experience Representative at British Airways. Residing in London with her son, Oby not only excels in her professional role but also embraces an active lifestyle, finding joy in fitness, jogging, and long walks. Her commitment to the Friends of Plane Saver Lottery ensures a positive experience for all members.

Valerie Walwyn-Tait MSc
Trustee
Former CEO of Plane Saver Credit Union, Valerie, is now a trustee for Friends of Plane Saver. Her journey, including military service, transitioning to civilian life and single parenthood, reflects her deep understanding of financial challenges. Valerie's commitment to community finance is evident through involvement in the Centre for Community Finance Europe and membership in the Chartered Banking Institute. Now enjoying an early retirement, she spends time with family, pursues fitness goals, and holds an MSc in business management from the University of Birmingham, adding an academic dimension to her contributions. Valerie Walwyn-Tait MSc's extensive experience and strong social ethos make her an invaluable member of the Friends of Plane Saver team.

Harjinder Ahluwalia
Treasurer
Harjinder, a committed member of the Friends of Plane Saver Committee, brings a wealth of experience from her 29-year career at British Airways. Having transitioned from being a member of Plane Saver Credit Union, Harjinder serves as the treasurer for the lottery. Her dedication to community welfare is evident through her role as Secretary at the Lions Club, where she organized events and raised funds for the welfare of street children and senior citizens, including swimming galas. Harjinder's diverse background and passion for service make her an invaluable asset to the Friends of Plane Saver.

Maurice Thompson
Trustee
Maurice Thompson, a dedicated trustee of the Friends of Plane Saver Committee, brings a wealth of experience from his career at British Airways and beyond. Starting as an aircraft engineering apprentice in 1988, he transitioned to IT in 2000, where he held various technical and leadership roles. In 2022, he moved to a public sector role as a Major Incident Manager, applying his skills in critical situation management. Maurice enjoys five-a-side football, music, and cycling outside of work, reflecting his love for teamwork and an active lifestyle. He has been a committed Friends of Plane Saver Committee for two years, leveraging his engineering and IT background and leadership skills. Maurice focuses on ensuring the integrity and success of the monthly lottery draw, representing the interests of Plane Saver Credit Union members, and enhancing the overall lottery experience.

Jo Capon
Trustee
Joined Friends of Plane Saver in 2025. Having been a member of the credit union for many years. Jo’s passion for work for over 20 years was at Heathrow Airport in Property Management and became a member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) After many years at Terminal 4 she moved to work within the Terminal 5 Construction project and later with the project team for the new Terminal 2, The Queens Terminal. Early retirement took her to the Isle of Wight to support elderly family and also volunteered at St Mary’s hospital with a part time position in Customer Service with the Hovercraft Company. Now back in Berkshire she enjoys being close to family and friends.

Candice Elizabeth Nsona Wungudi
Trustee
Candice is originally from Paris and moved to London 10 years ago. Having started her career at Charles De Gaulle Airport she subsequently made the move to London. Candice is a former British Airways staff member with over 10 years of experience at London Heathrow Airport, where she worked for various airlines in roles such as ticketing, check-in, dispatch, and social media coordination. Candice also brings her valuable experience while studying at an IATA-accredited private aviation school in Paris, further deepening her passion for the aviation industry. Her commitment to aviation is matched by only by her dedication to community service, as she regularly volunteers to help people in her local area.
